As the Digital Manager, Sara was responsible for heading up all digital operations on the communications team from the Office of the Speaker and for the Council’s platforms at large. This included managing both day-to-day and longterm content planning, implementing best digital practices for the larger communications team, handling rapid response, and creating content campaigns from conception to asset production (e.g., graphic design) to distribution and execution. As Senior Communications Strategist, Sara’s role expanded to include spearheading messaging for all communications materials and ensuring the office most effectively utilized every available tool to best execute the communications strategy.
Providing reliable information
As a government institution, New Yorkers turn to the Council for information they can rely on. Sara created several comprehensive messaging campaigns for members to deploy on their own platforms in order to raise awareness and share resources.
Engaging influencers
Sara took the lead on crafting messaging for policy measures and distributing materials to build consensus, both publicly and among the members themselves, and help drive a positive narrative around Council initiatives.
